Janet Case is co-founder and CEO of Proxio, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based technology company that provides networking and marketing solutions to the global real estate industry. Proxio’s mission is “connecting the world of real estate” with its award-winning services adapted to many cultures and delivered in 19 languages.
Janet’s interest in real estate began very early; she bought her first investment property at the age of 19 and has bought and sold many since. It was her first international purchase several years ago, an old farm in France, which inspired her to re-think the MLS for an international audience as a solution to serious market inefficiencies. ProxioPro was launched in April 2008, and today hosts over 700,000 agents in more than 100 countries, and more than 3 million listings. Proxio’s customers include the largest MLS in the US, the largest local real estate association, the largest brokerage, and scores of associations, brokerages and associations worldwide – and now some of the world’s most respected property developers.
Before founding Proxio, Janet was CEO of the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors (SILVAR) and the San Mateo County Association of Realtors (SAMCAR) for six years, with over 7500 agents in hundreds of brokerages. In this role she also ran the PRDS real estate forms company and participated in the governance of the local MLS. Previously Janet was a senior marketing executive, successfully conceiving and launching new high-tech products into international markets for two Fortune 500 companies, Varian Associates and Tencor Instruments.
Janet holds a BA degree in Economics and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
